Caring for Columbia is a student-run day of service that helps Mizzou students say “thank you” to the Columbia, Missouri, community for its continual support. Volunteers take part in park cleanups, painting, packing backpacks for children in need, working with animals and more.
Give back by serving communities in need. With Mizzou Alternative Breaks, you’ll be part of a small group that travels during weekends or mid- or inter-semester breaks to help provide advocacy, education, relief and support to communities across the state and the country.
The Office of Student Engagement in the Center for Student Involvement (2500 MU Student Center) provides involvement opportunities, leadership training and volunteer experiences with an emphasis on developing transferable skills for future employment. Programs include the Women’s Leadership Conference, Emerging Leaders Program, Mizzou Alternative Breaks and Caring for Columbia. The office advises student government and is the central campus resource for recognized student organizations.
The Office of Service Programs connects you with opportunities to serve and network with local community-service agencies and nonprofits. Resources include the annual Volunteer Fair, Step Forward Day, Service Week and Service Ambassadors.
STRIPES stands for Supportive Tigers Riding in Pursuit of Ensuring Safety. Volunteers will give you a confidential, free and safe ride home any Thursday, Friday or Saturday night during fall and spring semesters.
Tiger Pantry helps feed members of the Mizzou community in times of need. By providing this support, Tiger Pantry allows students, faculty and staff to focus on reaching their academic and professional goals.
This student-led service program helps you find service projects to take part in throughout the year. The program aims to provide a variety of opportunities each semester that meet different needs in the community.
